Wrongful Death

Wrongful death content, handled with the weight it deserves — in scoring and in tone

The highest-scoring incident category in the system, and the one your firm's prompt template should customize most carefully.

Wrongful death incidents combine multiple top-tier scoring signals: a fatality (+50), the dedicated wrongful_death type bonus (+25), and — if more than one person died — a multiple-fatalities bonus (+20). A single-fatality wrongful death incident in your firm's state scores 75 points by default; a multi-fatality event can reach 95 or higher.

That scoring weight exists because these are the highest case-value incidents the system tracks — but it also means tone matters more here than anywhere else. This is the one category where we'd strongly recommend customizing your firm's Prompt Template (Settings → Prompt Templates) before letting anything reach a family member's search results unreviewed.

How this is scored

fatality: +50, type_wrongful_death: +25, multiple_fatalities (if applicable): +20. State match adds another +25 on top.

Where it's sourced from

Local TV and newspaper RSS feeds for your state, cross-classified whenever a source article reports a death.

Frequently asked questions

Why does wrongful death score higher than almost every other category?
It stacks two of the largest individual signals in the model — the base fatality bonus and the dedicated wrongful-death type bonus — reflecting both case value and search intent.
Can I adjust the tone the AI uses for wrongful death articles specifically?
Yes — Prompt Templates support per-firm additional instructions, and you can create a separate template specifically for sensitive incident types if you want stricter tone guidance than your default voice.
Does every wrongful death incident get auto-generated?
Only if it clears your configured minimum score — but given the scoring weight involved, most in-state wrongful death incidents will. We'd recommend reviewing these particularly carefully before approving, given both the sensitivity and the case value involved.
